The main modification involved adding frozen spinach when I put the meal together. I highly recommend this easy addition to the recipe!
I also cut back the amount of sauce, which I also felt helped in the end. The first time I made this dish it seemed as if it was swimming in sauce. This time the ratio was much improved.
As I mentioned in the Great Freezer Meal Adventure post, I did transfer the frozen meal to a larger casserole dish before heating.
My husband and I got about 6 servings out of the freezer meal, last night’s dinner and four lunch containers, and enjoyed Sister Schubert’s Dinner Yeast Rolls alongside.
